Bootstrap Triptych Reflection

Panel One

For my Panel One I put in a lot of time and effort trying to get my website to look the way I wanted. It surprised me that even though I was using the Bootstrap elements, I still had to put almost as much work into editing the html as in project one; before diving into this project I thought Bootstrap was much more of a shortcut than I really found it to be probably due to only having done shorter excercises such as the playground or FCC activities. Some things i'm particularly proud of in panel one are my use of cards, accordions, and the carousel. Those components took me a long time to format neatly and required me to have to look for a lot of help to fix the issues I was having such as the cards not lining up together or the carousel captions being too difficult to read. I also learned how to create the hero section while working on this panel.

Panel Two

For Panel Two I added my content into the Landing Page theme from Start Bootstrap because it looked like a good clean and simple template that would translate the content over from my Panel One well. For this step I struggled with knowing where to insert my content and deciding what I could delete from the html. I noticed that this Panel looks very plain and wonky due to the lack of custom CSS, even though all of my content is still there; this is likely due to the simple nature of the theme.

Panel Three

For Panel Three I focused all in on my CSS and tried to create a more elevated version of the website I built in Panel One. I liked the form at the bottom of the template so I decided to keep it and alter it to fit my content. A big issue I had in this part of the project was my css rules not applying because of pre-existing styling in the template css; I had to use !important in my CSS a lot and play around until I found what worked. Some extra things I added in this panel were my h1 animation in the hero section, making the text have a color gradient from cream to pumpkin orange, and several media queries to help the page look better on smaller devices. Overall I am really happy with how this panel turned out and I feel like the theme and expandind my CSS helped me to polish up the page I originally designed in panel one.
